In this review I am going to talk about Shimano's new spinning reel the Stradic CI4. This reel is for the serious finesse fisherman who is looking for the ultimate dropshot reel. This reel is made from a special reinforced carbon material which makes it extremely light as well as very strong. I used the 2500 series this year for a dropshot reel as well as for a Senko setup. I can't say enough about how light this reel is. You can fish all day with one and there is absolutely no fatigue, due to its light weight. The drag is super smooth and the reel contains 7 bearings which makes it very smooth but also powerful enough to help you land the biggest smallies you can find. I paired this reel with a 7' 2" Shimano Crucial Dropshot Rod which allowed for long casts as well as a very soft tip to really feel the slightest tap when dropshotting. The Propulsion line management system helps eliminate tangles and allows for long smooth casts no matter which line you choose.
